Don’t Finish That Bag Of Chips…
Believe me, I would want to finish that bag of chips, too! But I’m telling you right now, DO NOT FINISH IT!
Part of honouring our temples is being careful of what we feed it. Junk foods are not going to be your friend in this one. So rather than choosing something that will fulfill you for a few minutes, opt for a healthier alternative! There are lots of simple snacks, such as apples and peanut butter, veggies and dip, or a smoothie. It doesn’t have to be outrageous!! Just a little something. Remember, your body is a sacred temple. Therefore, feed your temple healthy foods to avoid burnout or getting hangry. If you want something a little more creative, check these recipes out!
Additionally, part of feeding our temple comes with feeding the spirit. The spirit is full when we have spent time in the word and in prayer. The scripture for this post is 1 Peter 2:2:

We must crave more than our own selfish gratification. Taking that bag of chips is being selfish, but making a healthy snack and enjoying time in the word is holy.
This “pure spiritual milk” is exactly the stuff that satisfies and meets our deepest needs. The metaphor here, in Peter’s scripture, is that all Christians are to crave “milk” like newborns and even the mature believers.
In short, crave for the food that will fill and honour your temple. Whether that is time with the Lord, or time making a healthy snack – both being able to fuel your body and spirit.
