Honour Your Body; It’s A Temple

Hello, everyone! You may have seen on my About page, that what really drew me to creating a blog was 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. You might be wondering, how do I honour my body? How do I honour it as a temple?

First, there’s a TON of things that you can do to honour your body as a temple (which this is what my blog is all about!). So, let’s start off with what a temple is.

A temple is a sacred building. A building entirely devoted to the worship of God. It is a house of prayer. It is valued and treated with respect and care! And that is exactly what our bodies are.

Your body is a temple. Look at the temple the Creator of the Universe gave you. It may not be what society thinks is perfect, like an hourglass body, or blemish-free and flawless. But regardless of society’s thoughts, God tells us that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14, NIV).

Your temple is beautiful. Move your fingers, then your toes. Move your head side to side. How amazing is that?! God made our body’s systems work together to allow us to move, walk, jump, talk, think, etc. Our God, who knows the stars by name, and created man from dust, made YOUR body. Once again, look at your temple. Look at God’s work. Don’t you see how beautiful it is? We need to honour it!

As this is my first blog post, let’s keep things simple. The following 5 blog posts are a few simple things you can do to honour the beloved temple God blessed you with.

  1. Take Time To Be Thankful For Your Body
  2. Don’t Finish That Bag Of Chips…
  3. Practice Self-Love
  4. Spend Time Away From Screens

Thank you for reading this blog post! How will you honour your body as a temple? Let me know in the comment section! 🙂
