Practice Self-Love

Take a few minutes to send love throughout your body and realign your thoughts. Be mindful and be present. Honour your temple by reminding it of these things:

In our society today, it can be hard to accept who you are in God’s eyes, as there is always comparison through social media and various advertisements. When we compare, we forget the things that make us unique and different from each other. And when we run into this circumstance we need to remember this verse:

“We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.” – 2 Corinthians 10:12 (NIV)

Here, “the Corinthians are commending themselves based on secular standards that included the dramatic speaking ability… and self-promotion” (bibleref.com). Additionally, “Paul is not participating in the cultural competency to be the most popular or most followed public personality. In fact, he describes his opponents as being without understanding—they are unwise—as proven by their continual need to measure themselves against each other” (bibleref.com).

Let us act like Paul and remember that there is no point in comparing ourselves to others, rather let us practice acceptance and self-love.
